One Month of Book Buddies Generative Writing
Access to one full month of Generative Writing sessions with the Book Buddies. Book Buddies gather on zoom from 6:30pm - 8:30pm EST every Tuesday AND every Saturday from 10am -12pm EST for what we call “Gen writing” for short. In a google doc all BBs have access to, Kate posts two prompts every week. One is in support of generating a new piece of writing, and the other is in support of revising a work in progress. We check in and unpack the prompts at the start of class, then everyone writes independently for a 60 minute block, after which we take a 5 minute break before reconvening. Writers have the opportunity to read hot off the press work out loud for on the spot encouraging feedback, and to share about how the writing went during the hour or how their writing practice is feeling generally. If the group is large, we separate into break out groups for the end of class discussion
